All New Comedy Nights
Tuesday 16 Apr
The King’s Hall is excited to announce an evening of outstanding comedy in partnership with The Comedy Network. The night will give you the opportunity to see three of the UK’s most up and coming comedians.
Naz Osmanoglu
Winner of the Amused Moose Laugh-off Competition, Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee 2010, and Runner-up in So You Think You’re Funny, Naz Osmanoglu, has hit the London comedy circuit running. Already a fringe veteran with acclaimed, irreverent sketch trio WitTank, he is now diverting his angry Anglo-Turkish energy to stand-up as well as sketch comedy. Naz was selected to be one of the new stars on Laughtershock for BBC Three, a hybrid of stand up and sketch comedy , and returned to Edinburgh in 2010 as a performer in The Comedy Zone, the fringe’s longest running new talent showcase and with another sellout show with Wittank. Naz took his first solo show 1000% Awesome to the Edinburgh Festival in 2011; and Ottoman without an Empire in 2012. Naz is currently writing and performing for the second series of Live At The Electric (BBC3).
Matt Winning
Winner of the Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year 2011 and finalist for BBC New Comedy Awards 2012, Matt Winning is one of the most exciting, unique and imaginative new stand-up and character comedians in the UK. The Scottish comic’s eccentric and idiosyncratic act is a whirlwind of ideas, combining an original approach to one-liners, acute observations and shouting loudly. Matt is also one-third of faux-rap group Vocal Point with So You Think You’re Funny winner James Kirk and Chortle Student finalist Richard Gadd. Matt has also written sketches for BBC Radio Scotland and The Comedy Unit.
Carl Hutchinson
Carl has been crowned the ‘Magners Pub Comedian of the Year’ and the winner of the ‘Beat the Frog World Series’ competition. He also reached the final of ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ and been nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award. Carl’s debut Edinburgh show, ‘Acceptable’ was shortlisted for an ‘Amused Moose Laughter Award 2012’, and he will be returning to the Festival this August with an exciting new hour of stand-up, showcasing his own brand of effortlessly charming but characteristically dry comedy.
He is currently supporting Chris Ramsey on a huge national tour as well as opening for Mick Foley at various dates around the UK.
